J.R. Clark is the SVP of health plan product and strategy of Paytient, a company focused on helping people better access and afford care. Paytient works with employers, partners, brokers, and health systems to provide a healthier way to pay for out-of-pocket care expenses.

He previously was a director and actuary with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in St. Louis, where he worked for more than 13 years. Prior to Anthem, J.R. was an actuarial analyst in the retirement practice at Watson Wyatt Worldwide and a nuclear engineering specialist in the spent nuclear fuel group at Florida Power & Light. J.R. received an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and graduate training in nuclear engineering from the University of Missouri. He currently lives in St. Louis.

A health-tech industry veteran, Laura Cave is Chief Marketing Officer at Paytient, where she's responsible for the company's brand, member engagement, and go to market strategies. 

An early hire at Oscar Health, K Health, Brella, and now Paytient, Laura is a builder who is passionate about creating more equitable, affordable, and less stressful healthcare experiences for American families. Previously, Laura held marketing roles at AOL and The Knot. A longtime New Yorker, Laura now lives in Columbia, MO.
